We are pleased to announce the (Soon to Be) Grand Opening of our newest holistic food-line product for pets: Reishi Mushrooms.

Reishi’s stand-alone as the king of medicinal mushrooms. They are adaptogenic, anti-inflammatory, anti-oxidative, long lasting and can be used in bone broths or as decoctions in teas. Some questions and answers follow about the preparation, uses and healing power of the Reishi Mushroom:

Q - How would I prepare a Reishi Mushroom for my Dog?

A – Reishi mushrooms have an almost wood-like feel to them. You can’t soak,
sautee, bake or broil them. You can, however, leech out all the healing,
medicinal properties by including them in a bone broth.

Q – When should I put them into the broth?

A  -  Generally, I put them into the frothy, foamy broth about (1) hour before
completion. You’ll see the water start to turn a darker shade of brown. This is
a good indicator that the apple cider vinegar (the extraction initiator) is doing
         its job.

Q -  Are there other uses – besides a broth – for Reishi Mushrooms?

A  -  Yes. Reishis can be used as a decoction (tea). Because they have a distinctly
bitter taste to them, you may want to add some freshly squeezed lemon as a
neutralizer. This is recommended mainly for humans, as dogs tend not to like
         decoctions.

Q -  How do Reishis stack up nutritionally?

A -   Reishis are mycological wonders. They have copious amounts of adaptogens,
B vitamins, beta glucans (polysaccharides), triterpenes (helps to negate
allergies) and have shown great promise in inhibiting cancer growth.

Q - Do Reishis require any special storage instructions?

A  -  No. That’s one of the great things about them. They do not need to be
refrigerated, are especially impervious to mold or bacterial growths and can
last for a long time in storage. Reishis are a special saprophyte.

                                               Ready to Order ?

Reishi Mushrooms are $7.99 each + $4.99 S&H  (NJ Residents must add 7% sales tax to order).

All of our food products are packed securely to ensure freshness and efficacy. We always ship early in the week. Why? Because late week shipped items may sit in a warehouse over the weekend.
